TESTIMONIALS
ROBIN DOBBINS
THE LAST DINOSAUR by Robin Dobbins realistically portrays the life and experiences of Jerry
Walker who desires to be a wise, benevolent knight in the midst of modern chaos.  The possibility
of losing his wife through divorce is the first of a series of painful events that attempt to reshape
Jerry’s beliefs and attitudes toward people and life.  Yet, Walker accepts the challenge of battle
much as a knight would have accepted the challenge of defending honor and virtue.

As a knight of old might have undertaken a quest that would have led through a series of
obstacles—monsters, warriors, nature’s furies—to reach a dream representing a euphoric state
of accomplishment or completion, Walker has to cope with a series of challenging events.  False
accusations, deaths, interpersonal relationships, and nature’s forces join other obstacles that
Jerry must navigate to reach his ultimate status.

The author ably transports the novel’s main character from high society through inner city
schools and international travel, all the while building and sustaining plot momentum.  Even with
the variety of events and locales, the author maintains the continuity and vibrant energy he
establishes early in the novel.  The consistency with which Dobbins writes consumes the reader,
enabling the reader to be a part of Jerry Walker’s life.  Robin Dobbins successfully weaves
emotional tension into the variety of surprises Jerry Walker must face.  As the storyline races
toward its conclusion, Robin masterfully resolves the issues established throughout the novel.

Time has left dinosaurs and knights behind, but Jerry Walker refuses to be left behind because
of his beliefs and view of life.  The battle to maintain Jerry’s wholesome ideals keeps the reader
captivated from beginning to end!  We unreservedly recommend this outstanding read!

......It's wonderful and honestly Robin has done a fantastic job of getting a person to think about
what life really should mean.  I have thoroughly enjoyed it and my friend in Chicago and her
literary club thought it was a wonderful read as well.  Can't wait until he finishes the next one!

"The Last Dinosaur " by Robin Dobbins is one of the best adventures I have ever read.  Once I
started reading it, I hated to put it down and couldn't wait to pick it up again.  The quality of the
dialogue sets off this fast moving story and the action keeps it moving.  A great baseball story!!

Jerry Walker has a talent for finding individuals in need of help and does not hesitate to help. He
is also determined to get his family together again.  On both counts, it is an unforgettable love
story.  The plot is excellent, and the conversations down to earth with plenty of humor and wit.  I
hope this book wins an award it so richly deserves.

I have just had time recently to be able to read your book and I just wanted to let you know how
much I enjoyed it and what a wonderful experience it was to read.  I grew up in Houston so I was
familiar with all of the Houston references throughout the book and found that very comforting.
Also, my brother went to University of Houston on a basketball scholarship and is now principal of
Kingwood High so you know I knew many of the things your referred to.

Robin, you must write another book!  Once I started reading your book I could not put it down.
The love story was simple but magnificent, the humbleness of the characters carved a hole in my
heart, and the referral of good ole 50's and 60's rock and roll was the cream of the crop for me.  I
totally agree there needs to be more dinosaurs in this crazy world we live in and knowing there
are makes everything worthwhile.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for writing this book and sharing it with us.  Please
keep in touch and keep that literary genius of yours flowing.
